PyroSim, Pathfinder, and Ventus 2025.1 - Available Now

We're happy to announce the 2025.1 release of all Thunderhead products. In addition to working on improvements to PyroSim, Pathinder, Ventus and Results, we've also taken time to make our documentation easier to use. Also, each product has updated tutorials or videos to help you adapt more quickly to our newest features.

Documentation Improvements

We aspire to create applications that are easy to learn and easy to use. This applies to our documentation as well.

User Manual Navigation

User Manuals have an updated navigation that has been reorganized for more consistency across all of our products. In addition, each item in the navigation can be toggled to see subsections, allowing you to dive down to a specific topic quickly and easily.

Release Note Additions

Release Notes now include a Table of Contents for easy scanning of all new Feature and changes. In addition, new & updated Tutorials and Additional Resources have been added to get up to speed faster.

All of our products received a number of shared improvements. Import PDFs as background images for model creation. See Dimension Labels when drawing to more quickly see the size of your Object. Find Objects by Tag to create quick customized selections.

PyroSim 2025.1

PyroSim 2025.1 introduces Mesh Refinement Zones as an easier path to increase or decrease the cell resolution of your model. Although adjusting these zones has always been a feature of our 3D user interface, Mesh Refinement Zones make in model changes as easy as drawing an object in your model.

Pathfinder 2025.1

Pathfinder 2025.1 brings Monte Carlo into the main user interface, allowing any user to quickly create randomized changes to initial conditions. When combined with Scenarios, you can now create one model that contains multiple versions of a model along with configurable Monte Carlo Variations.

Ventus 2025.1

Ventus 2025.1 provides a number of additional Flow Path options as well as an Advanced Search and easy to use Level selector. Add manufacturing fan data into Ventus to more accurately model stairwell air flow using the Performance Curve Flow Element. Use the QvP Flow Element to define leakage from dampers. Additionally, the Two-Way Flow Elements increases fidelity of your model with regard to contaminant transport.

Results 2025.1

Results 2025.1 adds a number of handy improvements as well. View the output of Scenarios and Monte Carlo Variations when Pathfinder simulation output. All of the combinations of Scenarios and Variations are visible in Results using a convenient switcher to view each one.

This version of Results also allows post-processing of FED and Visibility when combining a PyroSim and Pathfinder output. Determine whether you need to adjust Occupant paths using existing simulation output.
