Smoke Control and Airflow made Simple
Performance-Based Design Engineers spend too much time and effort using spreadsheets and 2D tools to model their Smoke Control and Airflow systems. Ventus is a 3D modeling tool designed to revolutionize this process. With its simplified modeling process and fast Zone-based simulation model, Ventus will save you valuable time, money, and effort on your next project.
The Zone Model
Leveraging the power of CONTAM, Ventus provides a simplified modeling process for creating Zone-based indoor air quality and ventilation models. This model represents rooms as simple Zones, connected together by Flow Paths. Zones report the different states of their temperature and pressure throughout your simulation, providing you insights in to the conditions of your building. Flow Paths report differential pressures and flow rates between the two Zones they connect, allowing you to design your systems in compliance with many Smoke Control and Airflow standards. When coupled with the Contaminant Modeling capabilities of Ventus, these features allow you to model how Smoke and other contaminants will move through your building.
Even complex simulations in Ventus generally take only a few seconds to simulate. Combined with the intuitive UI provided by Ventus, this allows you to quickly iterate your designs, and saves you valuable time on your projects. Ventus allows you to quickly tailor your Airflow systems to maintain tenability and air quality metrics for your building.

Scenarios Made Easy
Many Smoke Control and Airflow systems require modeling using different scenarios. In Ventus, you can manage these scenarios easily in a single model file. Certain parameters, such as the environmental Ambient Temperature and Wind Direction parameters, allow you to enter scenario values as a simple list. This list will automatically create new scenarios using these values. Ventus will load and separate the results of the different scenarios so that you can easily view and interpret the changes they cause to your model.

Contaminant Tracking
One of the main benefits of tracking Contaminants in a multi-zone model is understanding how the Contaminants move throughout the model over time. Ventus makes analyzing this information easy with support for transient simulations in its Post Processing toolset. You can view in real time how your models behaves, diving deep in to why contaminants transport across boundaries in your model, all with a simple, easy to use interface.
